Recognize this Motel 6 room, featured in the New York Times’ “Practical Traveler” column this Sunday?

It’s the new Motel 6 design I spotted last year in Carpinteria, CA. The Times photo is from a room in Addison, TX. Here’s one of my photos from my room in California:

Lovely. And here’s the bathroom. Seriously, pretty chic for a Motel 6:

The style, which the chain calls its Phoenix look, even won a Design Award from Travel + Leisure this year. Nice job, Motel 6.
